Booking & Dates

How do I reserve a spot?

Send us a message through the contact form or WhatsApp with your preferred tour and date. We'll confirm availability and send you the booking details. Your place is secured once we receive your 50% deposit.

Do I pay everything upfront?

No. You pay a 50% deposit to secure your place, and the remaining 50% six weeks before departure. We book all hotels and logistics well in advance, which is why we work with a deposit.

What is your cancellation policy?

Because all hotels and logistics are booked and planned in advance, cancellation is not possible once the final payment has been made (six weeks before departure). We always recommend taking out cancellation insurance. We are happy to provide an invoice you can submit to your insurance company.

What if my preferred date is not listed?

Get in touch. For groups of 4 riders or more we can arrange a private departure on dates that suit you.

How big are the groups?

It depends on the group. We regularly guide larger groups of 10 to 15 riders, such as companies and clubs, and have enough vehicles and guides to support them. Private groups are possible from 4 riders.

Can I join solo?

Yes. Many riders join solo and ride as part of a small group. It's a great way to meet like-minded riders.

Road or Off-Road?

What's the difference between the Road and Off-Road tours?

The Road tour is a 5-day loop (6 nights) on quiet mountain roads, starting and finishing in Almuñécar on the coast: about 423 km and 7,450 m of climbing. The Off-Road tour is a 6-day mountain bike loop (7 nights) on 4x4 tracks and non-technical singletrack, starting and finishing in Lanjarón: about 340 km, with uplift shuttles on the biggest days.

How fit do I need to be?

Both tours are proper days in the mountains. For the Road tour you should be comfortable with 70–100 km days with long climbs. For the Off-Road tour you should ride a mountain bike regularly and be happy with 45–85 km days off-road. E-bikes make both tours a lot more accessible.

How technical is the Off-Road tour?

Not very. Most of the riding is on 4x4 forestry tracks with some non-technical singletrack. If you're comfortable on gravel and loose surfaces, you'll be fine.

What if I'm tired or want to skip part of a day?

No problem. The support vehicle is never far away, and on the Road tour it stays with the group all day. You can hop in for a section and rejoin when you're ready. Some days also have a shorter option.

Can a non-riding partner come along?

Yes. A non-riding partner can travel along in the support vehicle and stay at the same hotels. Contact us for the details and price.

Bikes

Can I bring my own bike?

Yes. Bring a serviced bike with tyres in good condition. Please make sure you can assemble your bike yourself after the airport transfer, and bring the tools you need to do so.

Do you offer bike hire?

Yes. We can arrange road bikes, e-road bikes, gravel bikes and mountain bikes, including full-suspension e-MTBs. See Bike Rental for options and prices. Book early, as numbers are limited.

Can I ride an e-bike?

Yes. E-bikes are welcome on both tours. We charge batteries at the hotels every night.

What if my bike breaks down?

Your guide carries tools and spares for common repairs, and the support vehicle carries a track pump, tools and spare parts. For anything bigger, we'll help you find a solution so you can keep riding.

Do I need to bring my own helmet and pedals?

Yes. Please bring your own helmet, pedals and shoes, also if you hire a bike.

Accommodation & Food

What kind of hotels do you use?

Quality local 3–4* hotels, chosen for their location, comfort and good food. Each night is in a different village or town along the route.

Can I share a room?

Yes. Prices are based on a single room. If you're travelling with a partner or friend and want to share, ask us for our lower rate.

What meals are included?

Breakfast and dinner are included every day. Lunch is not included: we usually stop at a local café or restaurant along the way, so bring some cash.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes. Let us know when you book (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, allergies) and we'll pass it on to the hotels. Options can be simpler in small mountain villages, so we recommend bringing some of your own snacks.

How much luggage can I bring?

Please pack light: one bag per rider, plus your bike box or bag. Your luggage is moved to the next hotel every day.

Travel & Practical

Which airport should I fly to?

Málaga. Our airport transfer runs on the first and last day of the tour, around late morning: ideally book a flight that lands around 11:00–12:00, and a return flight that leaves around midday or later. On the way, we can stop at Decathlon Málaga for nutrition and gear.

Can I arrive earlier or stay longer?

Yes. We're happy to help you book extra nights on the coast or in Granada before or after your tour.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes. Travel insurance is not included, and we strongly recommend insurance that covers cycling and cancellation.

What should I pack?

Each tour page has a full packing list. The essentials: a serviced bike, spare tubes, cycling kit for six days, warm layers for the mountains, sunscreen, cash and your passport (needed for hotel check-in).

What is the weather like?

Mountain weather changes quickly. It can be warm on the coast and cold at altitude on the same day. Spring and autumn are ideal; summer is great for the high Off-Road route but hot on the plains, and in winter the routes are adapted to the conditions.

Who guides the tours?

The tours are led by Andy Weames, MIAS Level 5 tutor, who knows these mountains inside out. You get a route briefing every day.
